Kate has been an ophthalmologist for 35 years in both public and private settings, and is serving her second term as a Director for Vision 20/20. She previously provided 15 years of service to public Ophthalmology at Canberra Hospital; as Director of Ophthalmology there she was instrumental in funding Eye Clinic infrastructure projects in excess of $4 million, and in initiating patient co-management with both University-based and community Optometry.
Kate is an experienced educator for eye care professionals including ophthalmologists, optometrists and medical students, both in vocational training settings and at national conferences. Her particular advocacy focus is on utilising scarce public Ophthalmology resources as efficiently as possible.
