2026 Barry Jones Vision Oration

We’re pleased to announce that one of Australia’s most influential leaders in ophthalmology and global eye health, Professor Hugh Taylor AC, will deliver this year’s Barry Jones Vision Oration.

Professor Taylor has dedicated his career to ophthalmic research, education, and the development of community-based eye care programs, with a longstanding commitment to eliminating avoidable blindness. His work spans decades of impact, from establishing the Indigenous Eye Health Unit to leading internationally through roles with the International Council of Ophthalmology and the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness. He is currently the President of the Academy Ophthalmologica Internationalis.
