Hon Christopher Pyne to stand down as Vision 2020 Board Chair

Vision 2020 Board Chair, the Hon Christopher Pyne, will step down from the Board in November after five years of service. Following heart bypass surgery in March, he has decided to scale back his Board commitments.

Mr Pyne said that while he is sad to step aside, he is confident the organisation is in a strong position to continue progressing its agenda on behalf of members.

Vision 2020 CEO Carly Iles praised Mr Pyne’s leadership and commitment, noting that during his tenure the organisation has undergone significant reform and growth. This has included implementing a five-year strategic plan, modernising the Constitution, and enhancing Board composition to better reflect the skills and expertise of the eye health and vision care sector.

Mr Pyne will be involved in the planning process over the coming months to select a new Board Chair, continuing a tradition of influential sector advocates.
